Why Visit St. Moritz

St. Moritz's 3,000-year history, rooted in mineral springs, birthed winter tourism in 1864. Its Belle Époque architecture, like Badrutt's Palace and Kulm Hotel, defines what is St. Moritz famous for. Engadine houses with Sgraffito are top attractions.

Nestled in the Engadin Valley, St. Moritz offers stunning alpine views from Piz Nair (3,056m) and Lake St. Moritz. Visit the Segantini Museum, ride the historic Olympic Bobrun, or watch the White Turf horse races on the frozen lake-unforgettable highlights and among the best reasons to visit St. Moritz.

St. Moritz's cuisine reflects alpine tradition with specialties like Engadine Nusstorte, Maluns, and air-dried Bündnerfleisch. The annual St. Moritz Gourmet Festival showcases top chefs and regional flavors-culinary excellence that defines why visit St. Moritz and enriches any St. Moritz tourist guide.

St. Moritz in winter is something else

The skiing here is just on another level. Corviglia had great snow and the runs suited all levels. The village itself looks like a postcard but feels real. Food at the mountain restaurants was proper good too.

Fancy but still fun for regular people

Yes it's pricey, but St. Moritz doesn't feel snobbish if you know where to look. The lake frozen over in winter is stunning and totally free to enjoy. Via Serlas has all the luxury shops if that's your thing, but walking around costs nothing and looks amazing.

Best ski holiday I've had in years

Slopes were in perfect condition and the lifts were fast with barely any queues. Corviglia is a dream for intermediate skiers. The mountain food scene is genuinely good - not just standard cafeteria stuff. St. Moritz delivers on every front for a winter ski trip.

Gorgeous spot even if you don't ski

Came here with my partner who skis and I don't, and I still had an amazing time. Lake St. Moritz is beautiful to walk around and the town has nice cafes and shops. The Engadin valley views are just unreal. Didn't feel left out at all.

Snow polo was a wild experience

Caught the Snow Polo World Cup on the frozen lake and it was unlike anything I've seen before. Horses galloping on ice, crowds wrapped in big coats, the whole scene was mad in the best way. St. Moritz pulls off events like this so well.

Quiet luxury in the Alps

December here felt magical without being over the top. The snow was fresh, the streets were quiet and the whole place just felt calm and classy. Tried the Bündner Nusstorte from a local bakery - rich, nutty, totally worth it. A proper winter escape.
